RELIGIOUS LEADERS EXPRESS SHOCK AND HORROR – A RELIGIOUS WAR WILL BE DISASTROUS FOR ALL    

The Council of the Religious Institutions of the Holy Land (embracing the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, the PA Sharia Courts, and the local Patriarchates and Bishoprics) express their shock and horror over the horrendous murders and wounding of worshippers at prayer in the synagogue in Har Nof.

 Such murderous deeds especially in a house of worship are the ultimate abuse of religion. We call on all religious political and civic leaders to do their utmost to prevent the local political conflict from being turned into a religious war the consequences of which will be disastrous for all.    

In the name of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, The Heads of the Local Churches of the Holy Land and the Courts of Sharia Law in the Palestinian Authority.  The council of the Religious Institutions of the Holy Land was established in 2005. It is the first ever consultative body representing the highest official religious authorities in the Holy Land encompassing two peoples and three religions.

Il Consiglio delle Istituzioni Religiose della Terra Santa ( che abbraccia Il Rabbinato in Capo di Israele, le Corti della Sharia  dell’Autorità Palestinese ed i Patriarcati ed i Vescovati locali ) esprimono il proprio shock ed orrore per le uccisioni ed i ferimenti di fedeli in preghiera nella sinagoga di Har Nof. Tali azioni omicide specialmente in una casa  di preghiera rappresentano l’abuso estremo della religione. Noi richiamiamo tutti i leaders religiosi, politici e civili a fare il massimo per prevenire la trasformazione di conflitti politici locali in guerre di religione, le cui conseguenze sarebbero disastrose per tutti.
